GTN signs contract on a development partnership in Argentina

An integral part of the contract is the transfer of technology for geothermal energy production and the installation of practical knowledge in Argentina through the exemplary assessment of two pilot sites. The project will be conducted in close cooperation with local authorities, institutes and universities through, among others, advanced training courses and on-the-job training.

The development partnership with GTN is part of the develoPPP.de programme that GIZ implements on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

On April 3rd 2019 a first meeting took place between GIZ, GTN and SEGEMAR (Argentinian Geological Survey), where a close cooperation within the project was agreed. During a second visit in May, first MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) could be signed with important institutions. One MoU was signed with the geological survey SegemAR (http://www.segemar.gov.ar/news/memorandum-con-el-instituto-de-geotermia-aleman-para-desarrollos-en-argentina/) and another one with the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA).
